Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said he would bring President Donald Trump's immigration proposal for a vote this week. 

On Saturday, Trump announced a plan that offered protections for some undocumented immigrants in exchange for border wall funding.

In a pre-trial filing on Thursday, January 17, the lawyer for Rep. Jim Glenn presented five arguments for either deciding the election challenge in Glenn’s favor, or dismissing the case entirely.

Anna Whites, part of the Glenn legal team, filed the brief as requested by the committee hearing the election challenge of Glenn’s one-vote victory in the 2018 midterm election. The brief begins with a summary of the five arguments, followed by a section laying out further legal arguments and case law for each point.
