We're happy to say our HVALF Family Fun Day was a great success, with well over 120 of our friends, family, and labor supporters joining us for food, games, and raffles. We are thankful to the many labor leaders and candidates for public office who stopped by, and to everyone who showed up for their support!

This week the Labor update is entirely dedicated to taking a deep dive into the infrastructure bills being worked on in Washington DC. While it can be tedious to unpack them, the two infrastructure bills make up the bulk of President Biden’s Build Back Better domestic agenda and will have massive impacts on union jobs and the lives of union members. It's worth taking a detour this week to give everyone an opportunity to understand them.

Las Vegas, Nev. — On Sunday, September 19, 2021, the family of Former Nevada Democratic Congressman James Bilbray announced he had passed away at age 83. A defender of working Nevadans, Bilbray served the state in the House of Representatives for four terms.  Susie Martinez, the Executive Secretary-Treasurer of the Nevada State AFL-CIO, released the following statement to honor his legacy and commitment to working families in the state:
